As we humans embark upon our material journeys we are continually brought back to the ever-perplexing questions of that undeniable truth of transcendence. It is our task, then, to seek this truth out and to understand what it means for our mortal existences. As we trek into the seeming abyss of perpetual questions that vibrate our very constitution we are brought to epiphany. The epiphany which is depicted in this painting of Michelangelo. That for the Christian, transcendence is a conundrum which can only be explained in incarnational terms - that God became Man.
